DogsTop 7 Best Automatic Dog Feeders
Scheduled feeders for multi-pet households, odd work hours, or dogs that need portion control.
Published September 25, 2026 · Updated September 20, 2026
An automatic feeder is a genuine convenience for anyone with an unpredictable schedule or a dog that needs consistent portion control, but the category has a wide quality gap. Portion accuracy varies more than you'd expect, battery backup isn't universal, and hopper design determines whether it's a five-minute clean or a genuine chore. Here's what separates the feeders worth trusting with your dog's meals from the ones that jam.
Amazon Basics Automatic Pet Water Dispenser and Gravity Food Feeder Set
No electronics here — a gravity-fed food and water set that keeps a steady supply topped up. It's the cheapest way to take feeding-schedule guesswork off your plate, though it won't portion meals or run on a timer.
- ✓ Very low price for a matched food + water set
- ✓ Transparent hoppers to check levels at a glance
- ✓ Easy to clean, dishwasher-safe parts
- ✕ Gravity-fed only, no scheduled portions
14L Automatic Dog Feeder for Large Breed, Anti-Blockage, Timed
A 14L timed feeder built specifically for medium-to-large dogs, with an anti-jam system rated for kibble up to 18mm and dual power so a dead outlet doesn't mean a missed meal.
- ✓ 14L capacity, up to 30 days between refills
- ✓ Anti-blockage system for large kibble
- ✓ Dual power supply, stainless steel bowl
- ✕ Bulky footprint given the large hopper
Automatic Dog Feeder with Elevated Stand, 7L, Timed
Removable elevated legs let you set the bowl height to ease neck strain, and the 7L hopper holds roughly a week or two of food for a small-to-medium dog.
- ✓ Adjustable elevated legs ease neck strain
- ✓ 7L capacity, up to 6 scheduled meals/day
- ✓ Detachable parts for easy cleaning
- ✕ Best suited to small-to-medium dogs, not large breeds
PETLIBRO Automatic Feeder with Camera, 1080P HD Video & Night Vision
Adds a 1080p camera with night vision and two-way audio to a standard timed feeder, so you can watch mealtime and talk to your dog from the app. Convenient, but it leans on WiFi and the PETLIBRO app working reliably.
- ✓ Built-in 1080p camera with night vision and 2-way audio
- ✓ App-controlled schedule, up to 10 meals/day
- ✓ Record a personalized meal-time voice call
- ✕ Depends on WiFi and the PETLIBRO app being reliable
WOPET Automatic Feeder with Camera, 1080P HD Video & Night Vision
Supports two separate feeding schedules from one unit, which is the standout feature for multi-dog or dog-and-cat households, plus a camera with night vision for checking in.
- ✓ Dual-band WiFi (5G/2.4G) for more reliable connections
- ✓ Two independent feeding plans for multi-pet homes
- ✓ 1080p camera with 70° rotation and night vision
- ✕ 6L capacity is modest for larger dogs
Automatic Dog Feeder for Large Breed, 15L/63 Cups, Anti-Clog
The largest hopper of the bunch at 15L/63 cups, purpose-built for big breeds like Labradors and Shepherds, with an optional elevated stand for more comfortable eating posture.
- ✓ 15L capacity built for large-breed dogs
- ✓ Elevated stand option for eating posture
- ✓ Handles kibble up to 23mm
- ✕ Priciest option here, large footprint
PETLIBRO Automatic Cat Feeder, Timed Dry Food Dispenser
A no-camera, no-subscription timed feeder for owners who just want reliable scheduled portions without paying for smart features they won't use.
- ✓ No camera/subscription needed, simpler setup
- ✓ Dual power (USB-C + D-cell battery backup)
- ✓ Personalized voice meal call
- ✕ Best for small dogs given the smaller hopper
